The museum of the Quran and Ketabat (writing) is located in the historical Saheb_AL_Amr mosque. This museum located downtown. The valuable Quran manuscript on the skin which was written by Imam Reza and other Exquisite Qurans and manuscript from various Islamic periods are the most important objects in that museum. Moreover, there is some other calligraphy by Mullah Abdul Baghi Tabrizi, Mirza Mohammad Shafi Tabrizi, Mirza Taher Khoshnevis, Mohammad Hossein Tabrizi, Alireza Abbasi, Alaaddin Bik Tabrizi, Dervish Abdolmajid and Mir Ayatollah Hosseini. In addition, some other outstanding works of holly dress which has all parts of Quran, the smallest Quranic line, the healing cup and the stone inscription exhibited in that museum.
The Saheb-Al-Amr mosque is one of few historical buildings of Tabriz which rescued from Tabriz’s earthquakes. The Saheb_AL_Amr complex had built by AG-Goyonlolar and Gajarians expanded that. This complex has named as Saheb Abad square as the meaning of a place which has bazaar, school, caravansary and mosque in each side of that. Some data acclaims the pattern of that historical square used in Nagsh Jahan square of Isfahan.
The Saheb-AL_Amr mosque, which named as Shah Tahmasb mosque too, ruined by Osmania in 1645 AD and rebuilt by Safavian but the destructive earthquake of Tabriz in 1779AD ruined that holy place again.
In the year 1850 AD. Mirza Ali Akbar Khan, the Russian consulate translator, repaired school and main hall of complex and had established a school which is now used as the museum of Quran and ketabat.
