Souvenirs of Tabriz

Souvenir is a gift of travel and bringing gifts as a souvenir is an old Iranian traditional custom. In Iranian culture, bringing souvenir by a person who is on a trip is very common. Getting familiar with souvenirs of a region is a motivation of traveling to that place.

East-Azerbaijan province as an immemorial tourist destination, by having a various kinds of handicrafts and souvenirs is one of the regions of Iran that doesn’t let a tourist come back to his/her country without bringing any souvenirs. Without a doubt this province is one of the suitable provinces that is well known for its foods and sweets. Azerbaijan is well known for its various kind of sweets which is healthy and tonic with delicious and memorable taste.

“Qorabiyeh” is the most famous pastry of Tabriz that is cooked in a special way with different kinds of nuts. Using fresh and desirable ingredients in this pastry, had turned it to the most special pastry of this city.

“Riss”, “Noqa”, and “Rahat-ol-Holqom”, are the other kinds of delicious sweets that could be a great souvenir with various kinds of packing. These sweets have nectar inside, so having a cup of tea beside them is recommended.

“Sesame sweet”, “Tasbihi sweet”, Azerbaijan dairy specially dairies of Liqvan valley, Mohammdi flower’s jam of Tabriz, natural honey of the Sahand mountains, Maraqeh’s Basliq and Sojouk, Dushab & Walnut Halva of Osku, are the other souvenirs of Azerbaijan.

Tabriz nuts, with global quality is one the best productions of Iran. Dried fruit such as peach, apricot, plum made in east part of Azerbaijan especially Maraqeh city, are very famous.
