Allameh Jafari, famous scholar of Tabriz

Allameh Mohammad-Taqi Jafari was an Iranian scholar, philosopher, intellectual, and islamic theologist. Jafari was a Shia philosopher and thinker in the recent time. He was expert in various fields such as history, logic, metaphysics, philosophy, literature, mysticism, jurisprudence, and philosophy of science. Allameh Jafari was born in 1925 in Tabriz, Iran. He graduated from elementary studies in Tabriz and continued his education in the Talebieh Seminary.

Allameh Jafari wrote more than 100 books and treatises and also 27 volumes of Translation and Interpretation of the Nahj al-Balagha and 15 volumes of Interpretation and Criticism of Rumi’s Masnavi. He died on 16 November 1998 in London and was buried in Mashhad, in the vicinity of Imam Reza.
